Alejandro Chaskielberg born in Buenos Aires in 1977.
He began his photojournalism career with local newspapers and magazines at the age of18 where he developed a classic body of work in the coverage of social issues, and portraits.
After receiving a degree in photography in the National Film Institute he began working as a director, making documentaries for television.
Alejandro has shown his pictures since 2006 when he won the prize Curriculum Cero -Ruth Benzacar Gallery, one of the most prestigious prizes for young artists in Argentina.
In 2008 he won the National Geographic All Roads Photography Program and has shown in Los Angeles, Washington, New York and San Francisco.
In 2009 he was selected as a PDNʼs 30 between the 30 most influent emerging photographers of the year. He also won the prize Scan 09 Latent Talent and has shown in Spain. In 2009 he also won the Leopold Godowsky Jr. color photography award in the Photo Resource Center of the University of Boston.
Recently he won the Emerging Photographer Grant – BURN supported by the Magnum Foundation to finish an ongoing project.
